The company, then known as Rodia still owned by AECI of South Africa reached an agreement with Coopers to manufacture, market, and distribute animal health products for them Arsenical dips eventually phased out as ticks in the region developed resistance
1959 Expansion in Animal Health Business
Miscible oil plant for manufacturing Coopertox dip was commissioned. General expansion of the Animal Health business occurred.


1980 Name Change to Zimbabwe Phosphate Industries (ZimPhos)
The company changed its name from Rodia to Zimbabwe Phosphate Industries Limited (ZimPhos), marking a new phase of its identity and expansion.
1987 Acaricide Manufacturing
Deltamethrin acaricide plant was commissioned, allowing for the full-scale production of various Armitraz-based products.


1994 ZimPhos Acquired by IDC Zimbabwe
Zimbabwe Phosphate Industries (ZimPhos) was acquired by the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) of Zimbabwe, strengthening its position in the agrochemical and public health industry.
1999 End of Coopers Contract and Formation of Chemplex Animal & Public Health
The 57-year contract with Coopers ended. ZimPhos restructured its operations and introduced a new division, Chemplex Animal and Public Health, to continue marketing and distributing animal and public health products independently.


2004 Move to New Manufacturing and Warehousing Facility
The company relocated its operations to a state-of-the-art, purpose-built manufacturing and warehousing facility at Sunway City Industrial Park. This move allowed for better production efficiency and increased capacity for its range of animal and public health products.
