The material being mined and its products are nontoxic and aquatic life in the form of fish <\/span>and at one time hippos is thriving in the existing process water storage and return system. <\/span>Rehabilitation of the slimes dam is an ongoing process working from the bottom up. Silver <\/span>acacia have been planted along the bottom of the dump, being leguminous, the trees <\/span>supply nitrogen for grass to flourish under them which in turn holds the sandy material in <\/span>place during the rains. Water from the tailings is recovered and pumped back for reuse in <\/span>the plant. ISO 14001 certification for the operation was achieved in October 2003 and from <\/span>then the Environmental Management System has been growing from strength to strength<\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
